Topics available on TutorAura
These are the SAT Math topics we currently support with lessons, worked examples, adaptive practice and the AI tutor. This is a focused starting set, not the full specification.
Algebra
- Linear equationsSolve equations in one variable by keeping both sides balanced, including brackets, fractions and special cases.
- Systems of linear equationsSolve two linear equations together by substitution or elimination, and recognise when a system has no solution or infinitely many.
- Linear functions and straight-line graphsInterpret gradient (slope) and intercept, find equations of lines, and use parallel and perpendicular lines.
- Linear inequalitiesSolve and interpret linear inequalities, including flipping the sign, integer solutions and real-world constraints.
Advanced Math
- Quadratic equationsSolve quadratics by factorising, the quadratic formula and completing the square; use the discriminant and vertex form.
- Exponential growth and decayModel repeated percentage change with multipliers, compound interest and exponential functions.
- Laws of indices (exponents)Multiply, divide and raise powers; work with zero, negative and fractional indices.
- Expanding, factorising and equivalent expressionsExpand and factorise expressions, recognise equivalent forms and simplify algebraic fractions.
Problem-Solving and Data Analysis
- PercentagesFind percentages of amounts, percentage change, reverse percentages and successive changes.
- Ratio and proportionShare quantities in a ratio, use unit rates and scales, and solve direct and inverse proportion problems.
- Averages and spreadCalculate and compare mean, median, mode and range, and reason about how data changes affect them.
- ProbabilityFind probabilities of single and combined events, use complements and work with and without replacement.
- Scatter plots and lines of best fitInterpret scatter plots, correlation and lines of best fit, and use models to make predictions.
- Sampling, margin of error and statistical claimsJudge what conclusions data supports: random samples, margins of error, bias, and experiments versus observational studies.
Geometry and Trigonometry
- Pythagoras and right-triangle trigonometryUse Pythagoras' theorem and sine, cosine and tangent to find sides and angles in right-angled triangles.
- Circles: area, arcs, sectors and equationsFind circumference, area, arc length and sector area, and read the equation of a circle.
- Area, surface area and volumeFind areas of 2D shapes and volumes and surface areas of prisms, cylinders, cones and spheres, including scaling.
- Angles, parallel lines and similar trianglesUse angle facts, parallel-line rules, polygon angle sums and similar triangles to find missing angles and lengths.
Grid-in style answers
Numeric questions accept fractions or decimals (such as 3/4 or 0.75), so you get used to entering your own answers as well as choosing from options.
Full-length practice tests
Four original adaptive practice tests with two Math modules each, a built-in calculator and the reference sheet, timed like the real test.
Work it out by hand
Write your solution on the whiteboard and ask the tutor to check it. Spotting your own errors is a key Digital SAT skill.
Official information
Always check the official specification and sample materials for the definitive content, format and rules of your exam.
